well looks like the kitchen faucet has self destructed (the rubber washers have disintegrated

)....so will be off to the home depot/lowes for a new faucet (I want one with a removable rinse thingy...the current one cant get to the corners of the sink and its not tall enough to put some pots under---yeah a yuppie designed this useless item)....so I get a new faucet!

....you have to wonder--she is happy about this, why? either I am getting really really old or I really want a house of my own that I picked out everything in...yeup. I need my own house, tired of others mistakes, want to have my very own.

Our faucet here is removable. So much better than a fixed one. And I think the washer in ours is giving out because we get some water that leaks out the base every once in a while. The faucet is pretty old though so it is a distinct possibility.

well I looked on line to find what I wanted for my new faucet...and I hope that they have something like the one I found (available online only--do you really think I am going to wait for an online order to get here to use my kitchen sink??? really)

just got back from the home depot--got a faucet now we need to remove the old one (2 weaklings try to loosen nuts that have been tight for decades---this is a comedy routine)...then we dont have a wrench to move the nuts---so we got one (3) of those too.

now we need to read the instructions (hope they arent all in spanish)...and see if two college grads can put in a faucet!

well, the instructions were pretty easy (it was all pretty pictures

) so even 2 college grads could follow along

....the hardest part? getting the old parts unscrewed (yep need to spend a lot more time at the gym

)....after that.....neither of us are small enough to fit under the sink to reach up to where the faucet attaches underneath....so only one arm in at a time....well I sacrificed myself and contorted to get both hands (arms and shoulders)...lets just say I think I need to see my chiro real soon---

but after that it was pretty easy (hubby took over since I was out for the count).
and the new faucet is installed and NOT leaking on the FIRST try

!!!

so we had pizza for dinner (homemade except the crust we bought)....spinach and black olives...YUM!

That is good that you finally got it installed. Sorry to hear it was such a pain though. But at least you got it. That's a point for the home team!

I had lasagna last night. Nothing special.

Well today starts me teaching both 7th and 8th grade and next week I get the lovely joy of teaching the little squirmy 4th graders...

joys of student teaching---make sure you load up on vitamin C (those squirmy grade schoolers are more than likely where you last sickness came from---).

Yeah we are really proud of ourselves for actually getting it in without any outside assistance.

lasagna ....one of my hubby's favorites, havent made that in a long time (he is part italian so we have an old family recipe for it which includes making the sauce from scratch.).....monday is fish night...more salmon for us.

I already got sick, I don't expect to be that sick again this year. I take vitamins every morning so hopefully that will keep me healthy.

We have lasagna like every other week. So nothing special here.

Had to kick a student out today. He kept talking even after I told him to stop. So I just kicked him out. The whole class stayed pretty quiet after that. I haven't kicked anyone out before so I think they were just like shit, he is serious...

wow pwnd...that takes ba----.....never was able to do that when I student taught (though my teachers would not have allowed it--they would have stepped in first).

made shrimp tacos for dinner....yum!

my back and ribs are feeling better after the battle of the kitchen faucet (remember not a contortionist)....still a bit sore, but another day or two resting should put me back in the line up.

and have had my balcony door open the last few days---sooooo nice to have fresh cleanish air instead of the stuff that has been going round and round my hvac system.

See that is the weird thing about where I am student teaching. That is normal. They get a card mark and then after that, they can get another card mark or kicked out. The kid had gotten a card mark early on in the class and kept talking, showing the card mark did nothing. So I just kicked him out.

I have loved the fresh air the past few days. Though it is supposed to get cold again this weekend and next week... I just hope it warms up the following week for my spring break.

Welp, woke up this morning and turned on my light. It burnt out. So I got a new bulb and put that in. Turned on the light, nothing. Apparently the light part of it is fried but the fan works fine. >< Grrrr.

gee now that sounds like my place! Never the easy fix here, oh no, that would be nice---here its you have to take the whole thingy apart---TRY to locate a new part (usually not being made any longer) and then pay thru the nose to get said part IF its still made---and yes, wait 2-6 weeks for delivery (since they just wont have in stock anywhere near where you live)....yeup. that is my life in a nutshell!

I did NOT hear getting cold again---will ignore it any perhaps it just wont happen!
